Many Websites accept Bitcoin Donations. Here is how we get them to take Nano.
Bitcoin started to get accepted not by merchants, but via donations when it was in its infancy. That's because there is no downside to showing you a wallet QR code for donations. It takes no time, is totally free and if people want to donate via Bitcoin, why not?! I don't have to explain why NANO would make a better network for microdonations to you guys, but to charity funded websites we certainly should. and that is what i did. Everytime i see a website taking BTC donations, i write them an email, explaining why Nano would be better for taking donations. This is what i wrote: I saw that you take Bitcoin donations, and as much as i would like to donate to your service, i do not want to waste a few dollars just on the Bitcoin transaction itself. You see, Bitcoin is a network that takes fees for every transaction. Now the fees for Bitcoin are rising again, as there are more people using the network. As of today, the fees are 4$ and they were around 50$ in 2017. This is because Bitcoin is not scalable. You can see the current fees on https://bitcoinfees.info/ This makes it impossible to send you any donation below 4$ and makes donations unlikely unless they are really big and people do not care about the wasted money, which could have been contributed to you instead of beeing burned in the energy intensive bitcoin mining process. But many people like me would like to contribute a dollar or two. Fortunately, there are other crypto currencies, that just work better than Bitcoin. One of them is NANO - a feeless and instant currency, that will allow even small amounts to be paid. completely without transaction fees. Find out more on https://nano.org/en It would take you less than five minutes to add an option for nano donations and i would be the first one to donate. Along other nano users on https://www.reddit.com/nanocurrency , where i will post your website if you decide to take Nano donations. If you read my mail all the way to the end, thank you for your time! Please contact me if you have any questions. I would like to help you with the process if you feel like it. This is just an example of what you can write. Please do not copy and paste send this text to anyone but feel free to write other websites with your own words. it does not have to be fancy. We are so many people in this sub and if just 100 of us do the same thing and write to 10 websites each, it could really change a lot. Just seeing a donation option for nano would make people curious. let's do it guys! it takes five minutes. just some time off reddit, blockfolio, youtube or pornhub. we can do it!
How to accept bitcoin donations on a squarespace website for a 501(c)3 animal rescue?
Looking for the most efficient way to be able to accept bitcoin* (also open to other cryptocurrencies) as donations on a squarespace website. The donations are for a non-profit 501(c)3 dog rescue organization. We currently use stripe to take donations. Since I personally believe that bitcoin is the future, I would love to help with the adoption of bitcoin and hopefully benefit a good cause! Also, wondering if anyone else with a non-profit organization has accepted bitcoins/cryptocurrencies as donations and if you could share your experience with government compliance/tax filings? Thanks! Stephanie
Found a website that accepts bitcoin as donation for the orlando shooting victims. Why hasnt places like gofundme adapted to this yet?
I think this is a really cool concept. Not only do they accept btc but they also are giving back directly to the victims families. My question is this though, why dont bigger sites like gofundme do stuff like this?

I have programmed a simple payment system you or your webmaster can use to accept Bitcoin payments on your (company's) website in a matter of minutes. With little programming experience you can set up the whole thing very easy and fast. It offers QRcodes, five languages (french, portuguese, english, dutch and spanish) and multiple currencies (EUR and USD). It only needs configuration of two variables. You do need an account with MtGox for this. My main purpose writing this was to offer just another way to enthuse (PHP) webdevelopers about Bitcoin. I showed the merchant to my girfriend today and gave her my mobile phone. All i asked her is to make a donation. She found my BitcoinSpinner app, scanned the QRcode and read "paid" on the screen. She was really surprised how user-friendly Bitcoin can be. have fun with it (or your webmaster) : https://github.com/zooitje/ultra-simple-Bitcoin-merchant cut-n-paste from the README file: ultra simple Bitcoin merchant a (very) simple Bitcoin payment system in PHP written conform the Lazy API (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Lazy_API) features * offer Bitcoin payments on your website in minutes * quick setup * easy configuration * suitable for the incompetent webdeveloper * few lines of code * multi language (french, spanish, portuguese, dutch, english) * multi currency (USD and EUR) * no database * no pesky filesystem rights issues * no shopping cart * no order handling * no backend * no formatting and stylesheets * easy to implement in existing websites * easy expandable (sorry there's no demo, i currently don't have a webserver hooked up with the internet)
